The first day of your long-awaited cruise is crazy exciting! So we want to give you a list to help make sure you make the most of it!
- Check out your cabin and make sure it is all in working order.
- When you meet your Cabin steward ask for extras, blankets, pillows, etc.
- Lock your valuables in the safe.
- Change your cabin phone answering message. It’s your new home away from home!
- Explore the ship top to bottom! Look at all the lounges, big and small. Find the gym and spa. Find all the cool little eateries and restaurants. Start on the top deck and work your way down from there.
- Keep looking at the ship’s map and reflect back on where your cabin is! That way everywhere you go you can find your way back to your cabin.
- Go to the dining room and check your tables. Make sure you got the correct seating time, that you like where you are at and that all of your party is seated at the same table.
- Make any spa appointments as early as they open up to do so.
- Purchase your wine or drink packages so you make the most of the package starting now!
- Make your specialty restaurant dinner reservations. (Ask what nights are specials, or formal night. First night deals are typical!) If your ship makes reservations for shows and you have not done so yet, do so!
- Get a list of the shore excursions and make sure to reserve the ones you want early. If they are sold out, ask to be on the wait list!
- Drop a note to the Captain via Guest Relations to say hello.
- After exploring and you get your luggage, unpack and settle in! Then you are truly cruising!
- Look at the ship’s daily itinerary left in your cabin and plot out your fun for the evening.
- Throw out all of the extra paper junk that was left in your cabin selling you stuff. You want to keep it clean! The papers will keep coming!
- Traveling with Kids? Make sure they get checked in to the kid’s camp onboard! Get all the info about times and events and babysitters and programs for each age.
- Turn off your phone or put it on Airplane mode by the time the ship sets sail!
- Be ready for the sail away. Find the spot you want to be at, camera in hand!
- Check your watch to coincide with ship’s time!
