60 Days before your cruise. Time to check your Passports, look at Online Check-in and plan your Shore Excursions and Onboard Reservations.
You are 2 months away from your long awaited cruise! Now it feels real! Yes, soon you will be walking into your stateroom and exploring all the nooks and crannies! You are probably already dreaming about your ports, cool walks on the deck at night and shaking hands with the Captain! So let’s make sure that you have three of the most important things in place before you sail!
We are giving you a heads up to look now at days 30, 29 and 28! Getting a jump on Passports, Check-in, Shore excursions, and onboard reservations will ensure that you have a fabulous trip!
Passports for Your Cruise
We have made our countdown Day 30 Passports. It is imperative that you go to our Passports page now and make sure that your passports are in order! The laws change daily as to when you will need a passport to sail. We don’t want you to have to get your passports at the last minute! Not to mention, they must be good for 6 months after the sail date in order to board the ship. So, go to Day 30 Passports and make sure all is in order. 60 Days before your cruise should give you enough time to get your passport.
Trip Cancellation and Travel Insurance
Don’t miss the boat and get stuck losing your treasure chest! Things happen! Make sure you are covered with the proper insurance in case of an emergency. We have dedicated a whole page, Day 27 Cruise Travel Insurance, to sharing all that we have learned about why you should get it.
Online Check-in for Your Cruise
Day 29 is everything you need to do to make sure your On-line check-in is complete. You will be checking that your staterooms are correct, your dining assignments, your legal names on the booking and so much more! So read all about it on Day 29 and feel free to go to your cruise line’s website and do your online check-in today!!
Shore Excursions and Onboard Reservations
Day 28 is where the real fun begins! Once you have done your check-in you can start to book all of your Shore Excursions and your reservations for onboard events! That means restaurants, spa packages, drink packages, wifi and so much more! Often if you do this months before you sail they may have deals and specials you can purchase! Many of the cruise lines now have you make your entertainment reservations ahead of time. Read all about this on Day 28 and make sure that you are all aboard the best events on the ship!
And as always contact your Travel Agent to see if there are any available cabin upgrades and better pricing. And if the cabin price has gone up, you will realize just how smart you were to book far in advance!!
HINT! While this is 60 days before your cruise, just because we have made the next countdown day, 30 days before your cruise, you can start going through every day now to get a heads up on anything that will take the stress out of getting ready for your vacation. This countdown will help you stop thinking about all of the things you need to do. So if it helps, go ahead and start your 30 day countdown early! Take a spin through all 30 days right now and you are already setting sail for the perfect vacation!
Now For Some Real Fun for your Cruise!
Learn about your ports! Before we book our shore excursions we love to learn about each of the ports we are sailing to. We research online and we buy travel books! Ask yourself? Do you want to hit the beach or see the city life? Do you want to experience the food or the art? What is the best wine or beer on the island? What are the must-see attractions for that port? If you are bringing kids along get them excited with books about the countries they are going to! Do you want to learn some of the local languages of the ports you are visiting? Get a travel dictionary for each stop!
